Formally Mr. Spengler, Now Father Spengler

For those of you who managed to make it to Spanish levels three and four, you’ll certainly remember Mr. Spengler. After high school he became Father Spengler and did a stint in New Orleans, before settling into Parish work in Canada.

Father Spengler recently retired from full time ministry, but continues to reside in Wainfleet, Ontario.

Retirement hasn’t meant slowing down. He still does local pastoral work. He is in the process of creating three natural ponds, raising rabbits, and tending to the wildflowers on the four acres of land he calls home.

Mr. Slattery

If you took Latin in H.S., you undoubtedly recall Mr. Slattery, aka ‘Slats’. Dick is currently teaching Spanish and German, down in Alabama.

When not in the classroom, you can hear him on the air as he ‘Plays the Wax’ as a top 40 D.J.

Father Arthur King, O.M.I.

Father King retired 5 years ago after having heart surgery. He lives in a small community in Ohio, where he served as Pastor.

Today, he remains busy teaching theology to his local parish. Additionally, he helps the small local churches in the area when they are shorthanded.

Next year he celebrates his 50th year as an Oblate, and has fond memories of his years at BNHS.
